Thanks for work day help at the EOC/HPD

Ant-2011-0824.jpg

A big thank you to Jack & Cathy Kirk (KJ6AMZ/KJ6AMY), John Meeks (KJ6KQI), Gary Cameron (K5CHP), Ron Ross (KD6ZXG) and Heatherly Takeuchi (N6HKT) for help with antenna maintenance at the EOC at HPD. The HF antenna has never looked so good and I think we all got an education on knots!

Please Oppose HR-607

This website tries to stay away from politics, but this is a MAJOR impact to ham radio given our 440MHz/70cm band would be significantly cut.

Yaesu WIRES Function - How to turn it off.

Those with Yaesu radios have a tendency to accidentally turn on a function called WIRES. It is a feature that isn't used locally, but can cause annoyances.

Free Morse Code Flash Cards to download

Got this from Linked In...

A set of printable cards to help those interested in learning Morse Code for Amateur 'Ham' Radio or other uses is available from my website. Full resolution PDFs can be downloaded from:

Print on A4 stout card. Print all fronts first, then reverse the card, re-feed into your printer and print the backs. To trim, use a cutting mat and knife along with a metal rule for safety. Stay within the card and cut across from trim mark to trim mark.

The form is a PSD98: ARES Registration Form.

Thanks & 73,
